Lau Islands Tradeshow 2011 (Southern Lau)

This year, we are working hard to execute and island hopping tradeshow to the Southern Lau Islands. These 10 islands from Ono i Lau right up to the island of Vanuavatu can be classified as the most remote of the Fiji Islands. All of these islands can only be accessed by the local shipping vessels that go there once a month or twice if necessary. Due to the low population of 2790, these islands do not have a Police Post and have to rely on the Lakeba Island Police Station for relevant matters. Most of these islands never get to access vital opportunities that are advertised in the local daily's and television.

We will keep you posted on developments and pray for a successful trip to Southern Lau.

Soweto Gospel Choir Fiji Tour 2011

This year saw us facilitate & coordinate a Fiji Tour of the 2 time Grammy Award Winning Soweto Gospel Choir. We organised 2 shows, 1 at Denarau Island and the 2nd one in Suva's Vodafone Arena on Saturday July 9th.

The choir was in Fiji for 6 days and had the chance to take a little break from their current world tour. We booked a charter with Blue Lagoon Cruises where the choir took to soak in the island paradise of Nanuya Lailai in the Yasawa Islands.

Apart from the choir thoroughly enjoying themselves immensily on this 2011 Fiji Tour, we as Organisers/Concert Promoters came across several problems that we will be addressing with the individual relevant authorities.

One of the most disappointing facts was the charges of venue hire by the Fiji Sports Council at FJ$10,000. In other countries, venue hire charges are not this high. Most venues come fully equiped with good quality built in sound systems, fully airconditioned & cleaned dressing rooms, built in stage etc. Therefore, in addition to the venue hire, separate costs for stage construction and sound system hire had to be paid for.

We hope that that venues in Fiji will improve in its standards for what they offer.
